PDO Mono Threads are a revolutionary treatment helping to firm and tighten your skin, giving you a natural and youthful look. It is an alternative to volume enhancement treatments which will help to improve the skin without creating volume.
Not only do PDO Mono Threads firm and tighten the skin in the treated area, they can also improve fine lines and wrinkles and benefit your skin’s texture by stimulating collagen production.
What are PDO Mono Threads?
PDO Mono Threads are made from Polydioxanone which is an absorbent polymer, the same material used in dissolvable sutures. They are a flexible & durable thread (no bigger than the size of a hair) that is inserted into the face or body, stimulating the formation of collagen around the thread. This gives support to the tissues. These threads are smooth and made without barbs, they are not intended to lift the face, rather tighten the skin.
PDO Mono Threads versus Wrinkle Reduction Treatments?
While both PDO Mono Threads and Wrinkle Reduction Treatments can be effective in reducing the signs of ageing, they work in different ways and are suited for different purposes. PDO Mono Threads are ideal if you’re wanting to improve skin quality and tighten sagging skin, particularly in the neck and jowls. Wrinkle Reduction Treatments are generally used in areas of repetitive muscle contraction such as crows feet, frown lines and horizontal forehead lines.
What areas can be treated with PDO Mono Threads?
PDO threads are primarily used to tighten sagging skin and are particularly useful for addressing mild to moderate sagging in areas like the face, neck and jawline.
Various areas can be effectively treated with PDO Mono Threads including:
- Neck
- Jawline

What does the procedure involve?
After numbing the area to be treated, our practitioner will inject the PDO Mono Threads superficially into your skin. The threads stimulate collagen production around the thread, which in turn creates an overall look of firmer and tighter skin.
The procedure takes between 15 and 45 minutes to perform depending on the area and how many threads are inserted. The results produced by one treatment can last up to 12 months after the procedure and results can be seen after 12 weeks.
Is the procedure painful?
Despite what you might see online, PDO Mono Threads are relatively painless. Numbing cream is applied to the area prior to treatment, however you may experience some tenderness, bruising and minor swelling for a few days post treatment.
