SKIN TREATMENTS:

Dermaceutic TCA Chemical Peel

When targeting skin concerns such as pigmentation, acne scarring, or the signs of ageing, medium depth peels that target deeper into the dermis can achieve great results and are suitable for most skin types.

TCA (Trichloroacetic Acid) is a powerful antiageing ingredient that targets deep into the skin and stimulates collagen production. Trichloroacetic Acid targets deep into the dermis, exfoliating the upper layer of the skin to reveal a more smooth and blemish-free complexion underneath.

What can these peels do?

  • Improves the appearance of wrinkles and signs of premature aging
  • Target pigmentation and even out the complexion
  • Improve skin clarity
  • Smooth rough skin
  • Improve the texture of sun-damaged skin
  • Improves the condition of keratosis pilaris through an exfoliating effect
  • Boosts collagen and elastin production
  • Homogenizes and revitalizes the skin

What are the side effects?

  • Mild stinging sensation
  • Redness
  • Mild skin irritation
  • Dryness or flaking for 3 -5 days post-treatment

What can I expect?

Your skin will be examined and a history of your skin issues including your skin type will be taken into consideration. Based on this information the correct peel for your skin will be chosen.

Before you begin your TCA peel you will need to use the Dermacetic 21 Day Prep Kit (containing a cleanser, Vitamin C, retinol and hydrating SPF). This helps to prepare your skin for the strong acids and aids in reducing downtime.

First, your skin will be cleansed and degreased, then the peel will be applied. Occasionally two or more layers will be used. After the treatment, a soothing cream will be applied to the skin to be left on for 8 hours post-treatment.

How many treatments do I need?

One benefit of the TCA peel series is they come in a range of percentages. This means the practitioner is able to vary the strength based on how much downtime you would prefer and your skin sensitivity level.  We suggest a series of 4 treatments spaced 4 weeks apart, however, we can be as aggressive or passive as you would like.

Contraindications

  • Pregnancy/Breastfeeding
  • Inflammatory Skin Conditions
  • Active eczema or acne
  • Keloids
  • Immune Therapy
  • Vitiligo
  • Those who have used isotretinoin/Roaccutane in the previous 6 months
